Prices can change and misunderstandings abound once you're at the hostel/hotel/residence etc.

In 9 out of 10 countries you have to put the used toilet paper in a bin, not flush it.  This leads to a very smelly bathroom in the morning!

Overnight buses still suck!

When a hostel says they have hot water sometimes they actually mean luke warm or scalding hot.

We can't stand airport departure taxes!

Electricity needs to be treated with more respect in some of the countries we've visited.  Open wires in the shower and sparking power points make it a bit dangerous.

Coca-Cola is the only true global brand we've seen.  Widely available in all the countries we've visited.

Speed limits, stop signs, red lights, lane lines, indicators, seat belts and helmets.  These are all optional in most countries we've been too.  But the car horn is a necessity for anything you do on the road.

Small serving sizes in the US can feed both of us.

We found out what Super Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity means!

It feels like we've only been away for a couple of months.

Friends and family are the most important things in your life.  All the rest is totally irrelevant.
