Today we decided to sleep in due to the lack of sleep on the previous train trip. Unfortunately some of our fellow travelers decided to keep the entire hostel awake by yelling, running around and drinking through till dawn. Eventually the hostel owner got them to settle down. With some banana and honey pancakes for breakfast we grabbed a taxi across town to the Mongolian Embassy. They seem to have put all the embassies in one place. It was like the who's who of international missions. Now you'd figure our guide may have the embassy opening times but no we got there at 1.30pm to find the VISA section is only open at 9-11am. Oh well at least we got to chat to some of the Chinese Army guards that are everywhere in this precinct. We then headed straight for the John Bull Pub for some English food and the free WiFi access. Updating our blog and filling our tummies with Shepherd and some Steak and Guinness Pie we left to catch the train back to Tiananmen Square. On the way back we heard it's going to be -17 degrees Celsius overnight. Time to crack out the sleeping bags we think.
