We got up early and headed to the Aurangabad train station to try and get a train to Satna. After working out how to book a ticket on the complex Indian railway system we managed to get on the 4am train from Jalgaon to Satna. We then caught the local bus (70 rupees each) to the Ajunta Caves - a world heritage listed site.

In contrast to the Ellora Caves, these are renowned for their interior wall paintings. It was amazing to see these Budhist temples, 28 in all, with paintings from as far back as 200BC. Rick climbed to the viewing tower for a photo while Megan fought off 5 touts selling all kinds of crap.

One thing we did find was that buses from Ajunta Caves to Jalgaon don't always come into the caves entrance. We walked up to the road and flagged one down after watching about 3 pass us by. We we're continually offered rickshaw rides to the next bus stop but it's not worth it.

We then got the local bus to Jalgaon in preparation from our journey. We did try to get on the earlier 8pm train but it's fully booked. The LP guide suggested the owner of the Hotel Plaza is a wealth of information so we headed there to find out how to notify our loved ones we are not in New Delhi and are safe. We heard about the Delhi bombings by reading a news paper over some ones shoulder on the bus. We're now at the local Internet cafe across from the clock tower and about to have some dinner on the main street.
