Arrived 20th to catch a train that goes high into the mountains on a very scenic trip. It was great apart from on the way we pottered about looking at rocks and of course had compulsory stops for snacks and drinks. The end result was we had a nightmare journey with every obstacle imaginable. A wide load, roadworks and a van full of sheep dogs crawling along. I think it was being driven by a sheepdog! Maybe it was the sheepdogs annual day out. We arrived at the station with 4 mins to spare and jumped on the open type rear carriage. I was worth the stress. Lovely day and the train would stop, let you walk down the track and pick you up. Loco conked out however and another came to rescue us.This was going to be a day of diesel engines on the blink.

21st visted the Royal Albatross colony and noticed a strong smell of diesl from camper. Looked at engine and diesel was pouring out. Limped back to Dunedin with fuel warning light on and managed to find Fiat dealer. Needs a new part so stuck here overnight while one flown in from Auckland. Still town pretty nice and we didn't burst into flames.

Sounds good...
All these adventures are making for some good Morley tour stories! Between reading your and Jane's updates on NZ and Oz I am beginning to want to start planning a trip there now... Am finding myself sitting in the office looking up flight costs rather than doing work.... not the best thing!

Can't wait for the stories and photos when you get back!

Typical!!!
It just wouldnt be the same without a break down or two eh........ hope my mother is still in one piece, sounds like you have been dragging her about all over and making it as stressful as possible!!! (as usual)
Just been to a lake for a canoeing experience - however the lifeguard was off duty!! Tried to explain that after 'Morley Tours white Raft 06' i was in no need of a life guard - but being typical Italians they pretended not to know what i was talking about!! :( x x
