I´ll tell you something, it was worth turning veggie for these big fellas. They are absolutely amazing. What am I going on about I hear you say? Whales!!! South Right Whales and I have had the privilege to enhale the air from their blow hole (ok, maybe not so wonderful) they were so close. I never imagined that I would get so close to so many of these fabulous creatures. The biggest ones were enormous - one big fella's tail was twice the width of our boat and, yes, you guessed it - no I didn't get that picture!

I enjoyed the first boat trip so much (about 1.5 hours) that I decided to go again the next day and was I even more blessed. Because the water was choppy they were more active on the second day and we even saw a whale harim in action. No guys, this time the girl had four blokes on the go at once (makes a change, eh?). Looked like they were having fun.

Needless to say that I am still elated by the whole experience. Have a look at the photos and video clips. Bear in mind that the sea was very choppy - hence some dodgy filming.

Oh, did I mention that I also saw elephant seals and penguins on the Pennisula Valdés. God love them, they didn't stand a chance after the whales. It is only the start of the migration season from the Antarctic. Seemly the male sea lions arrive first as they are the stronger swimmers and wait for the females to arrive to build their hareims. The guide was telling us that the record hareim for one male was over 150 females. Talk about being greedy! The sounds coming from the elephant seals was odd to say the least. It was like a serious of forhorn belches that some of my male friends would have been proud of. Charming! The penguins, on the otherhand, were much more civilised and pair up for life. Check out the video of the two 'kissing'.
