We didn't make it as far as Tahoe from San Fran and spent a couple of days in a nice campground outside Placerville, just relaxing and taking care of stocking up the van and getting used to living in it. It has New Jersey plates which gets a few stares, and so we practice saying 'kwoffee' and 'how yoo doin''. We named her Carmela after the long suffering Mrs Soprano. We set off for Tahoe which was still cold and snowy so many of the trails closed for hiking, but we had a fun few days driving around the lake and took a trip up the gondola.
