After 9 months of planning we are on our way - we hope you enjoy following our journeys.
We have never travelled with so little luggage - am sure we have not got everything we need.
Checked in on flight 911 - at least we only have 12 flights on this holiday and not 13! Hope this is not a sign of things to come (but perhaps seeing what happened later in the morning it may be!)
Went to one of the restaurants at the airport for breakfast and tripped over a raised bit of floor and fell flat on my face! Luckily (?) I put my hands out to save me - What a start to the holiday - have now got a badly bruised and swollen wrist but at least they gave us our meal for free (presumably so we didn’t sue!!) - however this is not the type of money saving exercise I wish to repeat!
Uneventful flight to Bangkok but as we were about to take off on the next leg to Chiang Rai the pilot did an emergency stop just as the nose was about to lift off and the fire engines came onto the run way and surrounded the plane. As we were all taken off the plane back to the gate the mechanics were in one of the engines! Two hours later we set off on a new plane and arrived at Chiang Rai safely. Enough excitement for the whole holiday!
