We had a great night's sleep last night as the temperature cooled off nicely and there was the soothing patter of rain on our roof for a good part of the night. It was still drizzling a little bit as we went into Rhonda and Larry's house for a quick breakfast and a cup of coffee before pulling out around 9:30 once more heading in a westward direction. The rain stopped right about the time we left, and before the day was over, we had lovely weather.

Our drive today was very nice. We stayed on secondary roads as we drove across Mississippi which we always enjoy more than Interstates. The topography consisted of rolling green fields for the first hour or so of our drive but the land started slowly to level out the closer to the Mississippi River we came. We stopped for lunch in the parking lot of a Walmart in Greenwood, MS. (Do we have exciting trips or what!!??) After a quick bite, we continued our travel west. Very quickly after we left Greenwood, the land became MUCH flatter with fields of corn already out of the ground a good bit, along with many fields that folks with large machinery were preparing and/or seeding.

We drove 216 miles today…not a lot, but we have stopped at a very nice campground (Pecan Grove RV Park) in Lake Village, Arkansas. We crossed the Mississippi at 3:00 this afternoon and pulled into camp shortly thereafter. John is (what else!!) wiping off the outside of Mufasa. Muf wasn’t as dirty as we had feared he might be after driving in rain off and on for the last couple of days so hopefully, it won’t be a big job. We plan to get busy and take a good walk very shortly. Once again we have discovered a truth of life which states that visiting with friends along with eating too much is NOT they best way to maintain a healthy lifestyle! Actually the friend thing is fine...the food is the issue!

Now don't forget to do your stretching while you are away.....that will help with the pounds!

Nancy...Georgia will be proud to know that we have been doing "cow" and "angry cat" to alleviate driving stress. The pounds are another issue!
