Where I stayed
So i guess before it begins something has to end...not that I even really know what it even is yet but I can't wait to find out!!!
Before I left on my great adventure there were a lot of LAST TIMES and FOR NOWS, last time i'd see someone I loved-for now, last time i'd go to a festival-for now, last time i'd sleep in my own bed-for now, last time i'd be in Glasgow- for now, last time i'd work....sadly it really only will be FOR NOW or in other words...until the money runs out! But FOR NOW is fine because it doesn't mean FOREVER and LAST TIMES are amazing because it means there has to be FIRST TIMES and these are what are going to make this journey spectacualr and give me the experiences and memories which make the FOR NOWS worthwhile.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings...although if you're reading my blog you'd probably better get used to the ramblings of a crazy person!
And so it begins...
In a nutshell we flew Glasgow to Heathrow, Heathrow to Singapore and it was as smooth as that. We then hopped on the MRT (mass rapid transit) which is pretty similiar to the London Underground except cleaner and far less stressfull. Surfacing from the MRT we were greeted with the HEAT of a thousand furnaces- carrying a heavy rucksack was a nightmare!
Our hostel was pretty central to Clarke Quay and Boat Quay so after ditching our sacks in our 26 bed dorm we headed out to start exploring. The beautiful city skyline at night was amazing and the skypark at night looked phenomenol. i had never seen anything like it and didn't realise the boat was perched on three seperate buildings- even more spectacular than I first thought. I couldn't wait for our first full day of explorations and our time in Singapore to really begin.
So that's how we got started...
