David, Rob and I arrived into Helsinki at around 5 am this morning after the last leg of the rally. Dave left at around 6 am for the airport - he had to fly back this morning.

St.Petersburg is an amazing city. It is a mixture of old Soviet style flats and pre-soviet palaces and buildings. The building are pretty similar in style from what you see in Budapest but far bigger and grandeur. The squares and Palaces are nothing short of massive, impressive and amazing - I got plenty of snaps for the blog.I

It took so long to get into Russia that it felt appropriate to make the best of the few hours we had by walking around the city. Apparently St.Petersburg is the 4th largest city in Europe.. you can totally see why.

We left St.Petersburg at around 6 pm (we were the last ones back to our cars and there were more than a few loose comments were shouted out - very funny!).

The whole way through Russia, the locals stopped and started taking photos of the cars. They really loved Team Blackbeards and Team Putt Pirates. Girls were reaching out of cars, Policemen were taking photos and soldiers were cracking jokes. There was even a few games of arm wrestling with a few locals. I think we had all expected to recieve a lot more "Attention" in Russia from the authorities. The reality was that the locals thought the whole thing quite funny.

Leaving after 6 meant that we arrived to the Finish-Russian border town of at 11.00 ish. Near Vyborg. We were kind of expecting another LONG LONG wait on trying to leave Russia similar to the one trying to enter it. It actually turned out to be relatively quick. Only a form to fill in, a small queue, quick car check and then a few minutes to Duty Free.

After passing the border point - the Finnish side of the border felt pretty weak. They didnt even search our cars! - we parked up and Team Micheal Knights car failed. It was about 120 miles to Helsinki and it was already 1 am. It would have been quicker to leave the car and roll but Team Yellow shouted "NO", it has made it this far so lets tow it. We arrived into Helsinki at about 5 am.

Team Putt Pirates have managed to negotiate a car swap for 2 jumpers. Someone has to buy something for their girl friend.

Last day today... can't quite believe Dumball is over again !
