I had it! My holy shit moment, it was
9:05PM, and we were walking down the terminal to get on the plane and
head for Iceland, and that's when it hit.

It was a fantastic moment, and I'm sure
it won't be my last during this trip.

We arrived in Iceland around 6:30 this
morning, with our luggage and a 40oz of Vodka from the duty free, and
a smile. We breezed through customs, and found ourselves with our
first “what the hell do we do now?”.

In classic 209 York fashion, we found
the nearest information desk, discovered the cheapest way to get to
town (which was 50KM away and the Skybus was the solution). It cost
us 1300 Krona, which is about $11.00CAD, and away we went.

What the ticket agent failed to tell us
was that the bus only took as far as the local bus terminal, which we
believed was another 550 Krona ride away from our final destination.
We were about to pay for the ticket when we met a German guy named
Patrik, who showed us that downtown was only about a 5 minute walk
away.

We walked with him until we reached the
Hallgrimskirkja, which is this amazing Church at the top of the hill
in Iceland, and we parted ways.

From there, we had our city map, and
went out searching for our hotel room that Parkes booked. It took us
awhile, and a few back and forths up a few streets with some heavy
backpacks, but we managed to find it.

We dropped off our gear, and went
looking for something to eat. Definitely not cheap here, and I hate
expresso. When we finished, we went back up to the Church to take
some pictures, and look into booking a trip out to the Blue Lagoon.

We found some prices, and decided to
head out. As you can tell by the pictures, the place was amazing.
We stayed in for about 4 hours, had some beers, talked with some
Canadiens and Spanish travellers, enjoyed the steam bath and sauna,
then booked it back into town.

Not too sure whats on the agenda for
tonight but all I know is that the bottle of Vodka is tasting
fantastic, so I'll keep you all posted. Take care and talk to you
soon!
