We escaped the heat of Arizona and went into Central New Mexico. The drive through the mountains of eastern Arizona and western New Mexico was beautiful. It was somewhat out of our way, but it was worth it to get out of the heat and off of IH-10. We went through some rain which cooled things down to the mid 60s for a while. It was quite nice. Most of the rest of the day it was in the 70s and 80s. We had dinner at a local Mexican restaurant--El Sombrero.
