We had a great breakfast at the hotel and then wandered around a bit to do some last minute shopping. Then we drove 3 hrs to a lake at Tata, stopped at a grocery store to get sandwiches for lunch, and ate them on a bench by the lake. We had cappaccinos at the lakeside café - because I needed a coffee fix and also to use the WC.

The roads in Hungary are great! The signs are very clear and there aren't any potholes. The seemed as if they were paved recently. The city officials of our town in California should take note. Watch for "Ladies of the Forest" offering their skills. They are a bit more assertive than the ones in Poland.

We continued on to Visegrad, and found hotel Honti right away.  We were given  two attic rooms, only one with air conditioning that worked, but fortunately, the other one was cool by evening when we returned.  These rooms were quite comfortable except they had slanted ceilings which make for bumped heads if you are over 5' 9". We used the computer in the lobby for a reasonable fee. We had a beer at the ferry landing restaurant, then a poor meal at Patak Fogado restaurant up in a canyon on the road to the castle. "Poor meal" was the evaluation of the other 3. My meal was excellent and the setting of the restaurant was beautiful. Service wasn't so great, though.  The day was a little cooler than yesterday. Breakfast was good, as usual, and we ate outside on the patio.
