Well, departing New Zealand and heading back to the USA was a voyage worthy of owning a space ship. I flew from Dunedin to Christchurch (which offered some spectacular views), then island-hopped to Auckland, and then traversed a hemisphere to LA. What a nightmare! Not to mention that all flights were white-knuckled.

After a quick visit in Long Beach, it was back to Dallas for the holidays. Safe to say that with all my hard-core traveling, I slept most of Long Beach, and Dallas over the next week.

The mood was quite somber in Dallas. I learned that during my brief absence some 160,000 Americans had lost their jobs in DFW alone (and even more would lose jobs while I was there). Most Xmas parties were canceled this year, as were all the New Yearīs parties. Times are definitely tough.

Steve had the house all decorated for the holidays for my arrival, and it all looked awesome. Of course, Sandy the fluffball dog, and her never-ending licks, made the welcome even greater!

The next seven weeks were pretty good. Some of you knew about and/or witnessed my savage toe, which I finally got operated on and resolved. I went back to volunteering, which was great. I attended a great Xmas party (the best annual one didn't get canceled), had a great Xmas day, and spent a low-key, but fun New Year's Eve with Walt and Stan, and got back to the gym to work off those meat pies from Australia. I also went to the annual volunteer appreciation party, caught up with some good friends, and did heaps of other things.

During my intermission, Americaīs biggest turd finally left office. What a relief! Sadly tho, the dumb-ass is moving guess where? Dallas! Good grief! Well, at least Osama B.L. and others will know where to reach him - 10141 Daria Place, Dallas, Texas, 75229. Of course, Americans should wonder how such a wanker can afford this multi-million dollar property! The biggest craze going on right now is that this retard is trying to get Dallas City Council to pay for a perimeter fence for it! And, did you all see his public address where he announced that he couldnīt believe the economy fell "on my watch", or the "Mission Accomplished" banner he hung from an aircraft carrier?! Oh boy! To satisfy my general frustration of this past presidency, I like to play this little game: http://www.planetdan.net/pics/misc/georgie.htm. Remember to click and hold the mouse, and drag around! Letīs wish Obama well in cleaning up the messes, failures and incompetence of the last 8 years, and getting America back on track! I am optomistic and hoping for the best!

Of course, the weather in Dallas was not great either. Some flurries, and lots of ice and freezing rain! At least I am not any further north! What a dreadful winter North America is having.

Next Stop: Somewhere warm, if you please! And, not the typical destination - or so I thought! (Oops, I am already there!)
