After an overnight train from Copenhagen to Koln we caught a short train to Amsterdam, the city of Red Lights, Coffee shops, Smartshops and Heineken. We got to see it all! We started with the Heineken experience, which is a tour through an old brewery that's no longer in use. Who cares really, the most important thing is the free beer! We managed to get out of town on a tour through the region where we got to see a cheese market, a windmill and a cheese farm. Clare wouldn't leave the tasting tables until I bought a block of cheese and slowly lured her back onto the bus. We also did the Amsterdam "Red Light" tour, which was quite an experience. We got to see the famous girls in the windows along with many "theatres". After our 3 days there we were starting to get pretty sick of the coffee shop smell, seeing as there is one on every street.

Brussels was the next stop, the land of beer, chocolate and waffles. We spent a bit of time roaming through the streets and went out to the lovely town of Bruges for a day. Most of the time we were eating waffles with chocolate. I didn't spend long drinking because the three beers I had on our second night knocked me out pretty darn quickly.

We've spent the past few nights in Nice, our base in the French Riviera. We have been taking it very easy, walking down the prominade and laying on the beach. We spent a day in Monaco where we got to see the changing of the guards at the palace, walk along the Formula 1 track and lose some money at the casino. It seemed like everyone else there was either sitting on their 100ft boat, driving around in their Ferrari, or gambling along side us (but actually winning). We also spent a day in Cannes where we enjoyed more prominade, cafes and SAND BEACHES!!! I almost felt like I was at Bondi, until I felt I needed a Boost juice... :(

We're off to Barcelona tonight for a couple of days before we move back in to France through the wine regions to Paris. It's hard to believe there's only a few more weeks before we'll be back in Oz.
