Today we visited Worlds of Fun amusement park in Kansas City. Hot? Yes. But the cool thing is that we picked a great day to come to the park as there were NO LINES for ANY of the rides. And I'm not exaggerating. The only time we have had to wait is if we walked up to a ride and it was just pulling off. So although the heat is around us we did not spend time standing in lines sweltering.

We didn't get up in a rush this morning, but instead had a casual morning and so we arrived at the park after 2pm. Upon entering we energized ourselves at a buffet I had pre-paid for, then we were off to take on the amusement park. Aria was an eager beaver from the get-go. She didn't want to stop for pictures or any shows... it was rides, rides and more rides. In fact, as we were walking to get on one ride she would already begin asking what we were going to ride next.

Lucky for me, the kids are now excited to get on roller coasters so now I have two partners to ride with.  They rode everyone of them in the park except for one that was closed and another they were too short to ride. They are officially roller coaster maniacs. Jadin even road his first upside down coaster with me, called the Boomerang.

Their favorite coaster was one called the Mamba which is called "one of the fastest, tallest, longest coasters in the world." The kids tamed the "Mamba" and rode it four times.

Besides coasters, the kids spent some time in a kids section called Planet Snoopy. There we caught a Charlie Brown character show and got some good photos with the characters while cooling off in the theater.

The kids were also excited to ride on the Le TaxiTour featuring replica antique taxi's they were able to drive themselves. I enjoyed it because I finally got to hop in the backseat and have Jadin drive after putting in over 800 miles over the last few days.

We also saw a swinging musical called Stay Tuned which had singers performing a handful of old TV Show theme songs that had the crowd going down memory lane. They pulled out some shows I had forgotten about: The Monsters, The Brady Bunch, etc... (my favorite show they sung was The Jefferson's them song - you know it don't you? Moving on Up!). Jadin said he didn't know any of the songs but the Flintstones.

Laneshia is not a big fan of amusement parks so she gets love for hanging in there until we were ready to leave at 10. As we typically do, we started late but we closed the place down (when we were heading out we followed some of the employees to the exits).

We got some good sleep tonight.
