Today I enter Croatia and route 53 out of Hungary was getting dicey. Not much room for the bike when cars were coming from both directions. Seems like the days are now becoming about getting to destination, refueling and recovering. The heat was very intense today and I was very happy to see A/C in the room. I actually spent almost entire evening just lying on the bed naked cooling off.

So far Croatia reminds me of Czech Republic - rolling hills and very modern. I actually stayed in a pension just outside of Osijek in a town called Bilje. Very quiet and was on the boundary of a national park. there were lots of people biking. After several hours of cooling off I went out for a walk and the town was cute but some houses were bit older.

The Krokodil Pension was great, mainly due to the A/C but the woman who runs it was very friendly. The first night I did not see her much but we had a great conversation in morning in very broken English. She said she does see a lot of bike tour people but they are always old. She thought I was crazy when I told her I was going to Belgrade that day. Read in the next entry that I may just be crazy because of that reason.
