It seems forever since I updated.

The day started off very wet and cold and pretty much stayed that way for most of the day. This was my first mountain test and the total ascent for the day was 1429m. With all the climbing I only averaged 14 km/h. The main thing is I made it.

Shortly after leaving the castle in Sucha I crossed the border into the Czech Republic and immediately there was a different feel and the roads got a lot better :o). Other than climbing three mountains including the one that my hotel of destination was on it was a fairly uneventful day. I was getting use to the sore ass a bit more but still uncomfortable and I think I will have a scar.

Being wet, cold and tired all day leads one to make mistakes/misjudgments. Not the type where you ask a heavier woman how far a long is she in her pregnancy and discover she is not, but the type where hand eye coordination and estimation of strength left in your arms is over estimated. At the bottom of the final mountain I was on some very wet cobblestone road with multiple tram tracks. I went on the wrong angle and at last second thought I could lift front tire over. Bang! Next I know my head is bouncing off said cobblestones.

First thing is first get off the road in case a car is coming, second check the bike, third check cameras and finally check the damage to my body. Not too bad smashed up the bruised knee and struck elbow a little. Seem pretty good considering how hard my head hit. I only realized the next day that I must have struck my Achilles tendon hard as it gave me some trouble the next few days do to swelling. Once I got to hotel I also realized I hit my left hip hard and it was swelling up. I guess that made the ascent to the 1012m peak where the hotel was that much more difficult.

The hotel is a very noticeable landmark in the area and you can see the countryside in all directions for miles. My hotel room was literally in the clouds and I could watch them go by. Luckily the rain stopped before I reached the top allowing me to enjoy the views.

SO tired at the end I began eating food like crazy but I think I really need to watch the order of the food I eat. Cheese, chocolate croissant, yogurt drink, nectarines, coke, plums and bread seem to unsettle my stomach.

I did the laundry in the sink, watch some weird local TV from what seemed like the 1970s and went to sleep.
