We arrived in sunny Cairns and got supplies to head off to the Daintree National park. By the time we faffed around it was getting late so we decided to just drive to Mossman and stay the night there before we headed up to Cape Tribulation.
It was rainy and dreary in Mossman. We arrived at the only caravan park in Mossman to an unfriendly and not very helpful man, to be given an ok site considering. The main problen with this campground was that it smelt like vomit... or cat poo, or something completely rank. Maybe a weird tropical plant, anyways the horrid smell was overwhelming. The camp kitchen was the worst we had ever encountered as were the toilets and showers... Now that we are 6 months in on this trip I reckon we have sussed out overpriced crap campgrounds and this was certainly the finest of the lot!
By morning it was bucketing down. We thought we would check out Mossman Gorge, hoping the rain would ease or stop, so the camper wouldn't be so soggy to pack up. It didn't. And we didn't even see Mossman Gorge. We could have. But the money making tourist spot that it was just gave us more grief and we trucked off without paying the excessive fees. Oh well we decided we have seen loads of amazing gorges and we just wanted to get the hell outta Mossman by this stage!
