Did I mention that Pushkar was a dry town...  It's also even hotter that Udaipur as there doesn't seem to be any breeze what so ever.  I find it hard to do anything except get aggitated from about 12 til 4pm.  So end up lying down in my room with the aircon.

At 4pm I wonder over to The Doctors and they suggest to visit to the Baba's and Ajmer (see previuos entry).  I'm keen to go somewhere in the car for the breeze or aircon that it brings.  After more time watching Babas smoke dope than I care for I'm hot and thirsty. 

We eventually travel through Snake mountain (!) to get to Ajmer, a Muslim pilgrimage city and home to the Dargah - the tombof Sufi saint, Khwaja Muin-ud-din Christi, who came to Ajmer from Persia in 1192 and lived here until 1233. 

The Doctor and I donned our hats (all heads must be covered) walked through the green gates of the first mosque and through to the shrine within where we recieved our blessing and pay our respects (and multiple donations).  This experience was a heaving, squeeze of bodies and not something that I felt like savouring.  Once blessed and a few minutes stood in as quiet a spot as I could find amidst 1000s of pilgrims, I returned to the entrance and found The Doctor.      

Now exhausted, thirsty and harrassed by the street venders I become fixated on finding a bar so I can have a quick beer before we head back to Pushkar and my dry evening watching everyone smoke pot.

Doctor finally agrees (he doesn't drink so sees no need to stop for a drink here) and we walk into a dimly lit bar with velvet chairs around tables and a small bar area where a few men are standing.  It reminds me of something out of the prohibition films.   I'm the only woman and all the men watch me closely as I sit down with Tiger, Usman and the doctor at one of the tables and order a Fosters.  Usman and the Doctor have Pepsi and Tiger and I share a beer.  And there it is my Homer moment - ahhhh Beeeeeer....

All eye's are on me as I drink very swiftly my first glass of beer in what seems like a month (it's been 48hours!), I decide I like Ajmer and order another bottle.
