Now, where I am going is still a malleable concept as of right now.  I still don't know when I am leaving Savannah!  There are a few dates in my schedule which are definitive:

March 7 - Flight leaves JFK destined for Athens
March 18 - Flight leaves Athens destined for Paris
March 22 - Flight leaves Paris for Malaga
March 25 - Flight leaves Granada destined for Barcelona
April 13 - Depart Europe from Barcelona
May 2 - Start working

It seems like a lot of gaps from such a long period of time! But, during this trip I am trying to fight my inherent need to always plan out every last single detail.  I hope to go with the flow and although my schedule has a definitive series of destinations, I only know that I'm going to Greece, France, Spain, and (maybe) Italy, and all the places within those countries are TBD.  So you can expect these destinations to change as I am in the midst of traveling.

My desire to visit Europe stems from visiting Barcelona last summer, as well as a long overdue backpacking trip I wanted to do since before I graduated.  The three countries I am visiting are Greece, France and Spain.  I am hoping to fit in Italy due to its close proximity but I do not want to sacrifice time for excessive transportation.  I am starting in Greece where I will engage in a week and half of island hopping.  I then hop on a plane to meet up with Carmela, who has a few days off from her nursing program at Western University of Health Sciences.  We will be in Paris for a few days before heading down to the southern coast of Spain where we will meet up with my two college roommates Sean and Sandeep. Sean has been teaching english to teenage students in Malaga since last August.  Sandeep is traveling during his spring break and is getting some much deserved R&R following MCATS.  After a few days in Malaga, Granada, and Barcelona, Sandeep and Carmela will then head back stateside, where I will head back to Paris to meet up with Sean and his friends for a few days. The last week and half of my trip wraps up with me touring the Mediterranean coast and maybe a trip to Italy.

Places I am definitely visiting
Greece - Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Ios
France - Paris, Versailles, Nice, Normandy, St. Tropez, Cannes
Monaco
Spain - Malaga, Granada, Barcelona

Places I hope make it to:
Greece - Crete, Milos
France - Millau, Avignon, Lourdes, Aix-en-Provence
Spain - Madrid, Valencia, Ronda, Marbella, Sevilla
Italy - Venice, Padua (I was born on Galileo's birthday!) , Bologna, Genoa
Turkey - Istanbul (highly unlikely!)

You can also say that I am following my tongue, as my taste buds are leading me to areas of culinary indulgence. Anthony Bourdain has been travel agent, giving me suggestions on where to go.

I am also planning to drive across the country following my trip to Europe, but I'll save that discussion for a later date. Like I said, my destinations will be constantly changing, so I'm open to any suggestions!

Next to come...packing and the move
