New Orleans LA to Bastrop, Texas (Our 13th state and last one before Mexico)
I still have to finish off about New Orleans, but that will have to come later.
This was a BIG driving day, not much else, got away from Algiers Point at 9am and drove. Stopped at a grocery store and McDonalds and gas and that was it until we got to Giddings Texas, where we stopped for dinner at a Chinese food Buffet $7.99 all you could eat, wasn't that bad either! Used the phone and Kayak.com to find a Days Inn in Bastrop about 1/2 hour away. Only $41 + tax, and it was probably our best chain motel room of the trip. We both slept great.
Tomorrow (actually today as I type this) we are off to Texas Hill Country. Jerry Jeff, Waylon, willie & Hondo country. Can't wait.
