Where I stayed
Well another late getaway today after a casual pack up and departure from Daly River. We finally decided where we were heading for - Batchelor... no I'm still happily married...just the entrance to the Litchfield NP. We had a pretty god run and arrived here about midday. After setting up and having some lunch we headed off to the NP to look at some waterfalls. Ethan felt a bit queasy along the way but when we got there he seemed to recover pretty well. We started at Florence falls which was an easy walk down 135 stairs to a nice waterhole with twin falls cascading. Even Denzel is acclimatising to the water and enjoyed swimming with the numerous fish - some of which even had a little bite at your legs. We then went to a spot nearby called Buleys Rock Pools which the kids (including Jeremy) had fun sliding down waterfalls and over the rocks. On the way home we stopped in at the Magnetic termite mounds (they build their tall nest facing North to South to suit the weather and avoid the heat). Some of the mounds are so tall (see pics). Unfortunately there is a lot of burning off happening at the moment and also quite a few sites are still shut after the wet. We hope to see a few more sights tomorrow around the park. Goodnight.
