Dive day #5
Today was our last day to dive. We decided to do 3 dives to finish things off.
Dive #1: We started out at a wreck. In 1999 the Felipe Xicotencatl was sunk in Chankanaab Park. We saw a number of electric torpedo rays, a large spotted moray, and tons of yellowline arrow crabs.
Dive #2: We returned to Cedral and it did not disappoint. We saw multiple rays, morays, and another two nurse sharks. Toward the end of the dive a shark decided to swim towards me, which was a bit unnerving. We also found 4 splendid toadfish (Emily gets credit for 2 of them). All 3 of us agree that this is our favorite dive site here.
Dive #3: We did our shallow dive at Tormentos. This was a nice dive with islands of coral in the sand. Many of the usual fish, but also some unusual ones like a sargassum triggerfish. We dragged out this dive as long as we could, but it eventually had to end.
We have really enjoyed the diving here. If anyone is considering coming to Cozumel for diving we would strongly recommend using Orlando Olivera as a dive master. He does a great job.
We had dinner at Las Palmeras again and did some shopping downtown. We are relaxing now in front of the TV like good Americans.
