After a rough and scary flight through the Mid-West we finally safely landed at JFK with unexpected warmer temperatures outside. With the plan of catching a taxi into the city we were approached by a guy named, Tony, who took us 4 in his Town Car for a flat rate of $50. The ride went well except for dealing with the daily commute traffic inching our way toward midtown Manhattan.

According to a local map, Larry's place is located in the Theater District. Still in the midst of the city life with Central Park and Times Square nearby. Functioning on 24 hours of no sleep we knew if we sat down and relaxed it would've been over and Day 1 would come and go so we freshened up and hit the city. Larry had to go to work so we took Jez & O down Broadway Street towards Times Square. The walk become unpleasant as the rain became to pour. We couldn't resist to buy a street corner $5- umbrella.

Eventually we hopped on the subway out to Chelsea. Now a 7 day unlimited subway pass runs for $25-. We meet Ariel and Phil at the Cafeteria [119 7th Avenue & 17 Street]. With a mix of breakfast and comfort food, we re-energized. With the change of the rain, the six of us walked around Chelsea, working our way for cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery [410 Bleeker Street & 11th Street, www.MagnoliaCupcakes.com].

We made a pit stop at Chelsea Market to munch on our cupcakes and plan out our next route. Keep in mind, it's Jez & O's first time in NYC and Air & Phil's been here before plus they been here all week....so to keep everyone happy meant extra planning. After resting we headed up to uptown to check out a clothing sample sale which wasn't much. As every New Yorker we walked and walked. We stopped by Mood Fabrics (from tv's Project Runway), H&M (Jez needed a coat), and Lord and Taylor's unveiling of their Christmas windows...already! Passed through Bryant Park that now had a skating rink. Also checked out the other skating rink at Rockefeller Center. The Rockafellar tree is not up quite yet but later in the night we did see the tree being escorted on a large flatbed truck through 57th Street. Visited Nintendo World, a store with every Nintendo game available for the Wii and DS.

We had 9pm dinner reservations so we headed back to the apartment to rest up and meet up with Larry. We learned the building across from us is supposedly where P. Diddy lives, just around the corner from his office.

We ate dinner in Brooklyn at Sea, Thai food. I was beginning to hit the wall at this point. I've been up for 40+ hours now and just wanted to pass out. The food was pretty good. I tried a pineapple flavored Thai Ice tea, instead of milk, which tasted weird but not bad. For those who visit Sea, don't forget to check out the unique design of the restrooms. After dinner we all separated to head to bed except Larry, Jez and O, who experienced the City's Bar Hopping scene.
