We have made it thourhg the big driving part of the trip, going all the way from Abel Tasman national park to Lake Wanaka--about 12 hours of driving. We have decided to stay here for an extra night then head over to Queenstown for our last 3 nights of vacation (the reality that it is coming to an end is hitting us both pretty hard).
We stopped by, on the way down, Fox Glacier and I signed myself up for a 4 hour hike on the glacier. I have never seen anything like it---the tour guide was very knowledgable and I am now able to tell anyone anything they may want to know about glaciers, just FYI:)
We are staying with our friend Jules' ( Mer's friend from San Diego who we stayed with in Auckland) Unviersity friend at Dunedin. He has already signed us up to head to the bars and watch the big NZ vs. Australia cricket game tmorrow, and then of course the Super Bowl on Monday (our Monday, your Sunday).
The weather here has been very spotty--mostly we have been having tea at the very cute coffee shops in town, doing a little bit of shopping and hiking around the lake as well. Trying to soak in the last days of relaxation before we make our way back to the whirlwind (in a good way) called San Francisco.
