This was my fourth ride up in the Adirondacks, but the first time I ventured north of Long Lake. I started out early for the stretch to Tupper Lake. It was cold and overcast, in the mid 40's, but very peaceful along the nearly deserted highway. The marshes up around Tupper Lake and the Raquette River were spectacular as the clouds began to clear out. I stopped to visit the beautiful new nature center and the old Jewish cemetery and synagogue in Tupper Lake. Then on through Saranac Lake and then to Lake Placid.
