The laughter didn't stop yesterday and today continued to be a day of minties moments and 'all you can do is laugh' experiences. We had to pick up our hire car from the Eurostar terminal, fantastic as it was close and easy. Easy, did I say that?

Well let me clarify.....the getting of the keys to the car was easy but the next few steps were anything but. We were presented with a map of the station and shown on the map where the carpark was. We recognised certain parts of the map as we had toured these places yesterday. Loaded with our luggage we headed towards the carpark entry. Through some dodgy doors and thinking we were pretty impressive, we looked for the car. No car, not even a car that looked close.

Back out of the carpark and up the same touring lifts we experienced yesterday. Once again they produced no results. So Scott decided he would ask someone, and after a rude answer in french we decided there would be no more asking of directions. I reassessed the map and eventually worked out that there is a little lift behind a big steel door inside the carpark that we needed to take. Some time later we located the car, level one complete!

The car is a station wagon and it is long. Looking at the small car spaces around us, I wondered if this was going to be a problem. The boot space was super and our luggage was loaded. I got to be the guinea pig driver having driven on the right side of the road before, mind you a long time ago. All would have been well however the car proved to be quite technologically advanced and I couldn't even work out how to turn it on.

Once that saga was over, it was actually driving time. Could they make the carpark any narrower??? The sensors at the front and the side of the car were beeping, the sat nav was firing instructions in french and the child was crying. But we got out of the carpark safely!! Wanting to go to the shopping centre before we left Lille became nearly a 2 hour drive as we tried to navigate around the city and follow the GPS.

In the end we stopped for some food and the shops before heading to Rolleboise. Our hotel is beautiful and we wished that our Lille saga had not taken the time that it did. The hotel is located on top of a hill overlooking the Seine Valley and the views are amazing. It is a very quiet spot and had it been a bit warmer, the pool would have got a run for sure. The open space was perfect for Master X and the purple in the rooms was very bright however this just added to the character.
