The postal workers shuddered when they saw us en route to the Post Office. Between us, some 12 packages were sent back to Australia. Our own parcels totalled 18kgs and that is disgraceful by any standard. Following this little expensive postal venture, I was merely looking in a shop, only to be reminded that clearing out the bag does not mean one can now go and refill, why not exactly??

It was up the Royal Mile again but unfortunately minus two of our contingent. With the inlaws sick it brought us down to a party of four and we were sucked up in the crowds as we waded our way towards the castle. A quick stop for lunch gave us enough sustenance to climb up towards the entry, via the gift shop of course (once for when we go on, and then again on the way out).

I expected the castle to just be 'another castle' but this was pretty amazing. It was like a miniature fortress city and I was in awe from the first to the last gate. So much history and so many different facets of the castle and it's life story. We went through the castle via the audio guide and even saw the Scottish crown jewels. The prison display was quite impressive and the buildings are so well maintained. A totally necessary and enjoyable visit, I would probably even do it again.

A celebration of indian food tonight for my mother inlaws birthday which she will have in another week. Unfortunately she wasn't particularly hungry being sick, however she didn't miss much as it wasn't such great food anyway. There was lots of washing, packing, drying and hunting occurring tonight as we all prepared for the parting of the ways tomorrow.

My last few entries have perhaps not been as thorough as I would have liked however I am finding a very limited time factor trying to fit everything into the day and night, as well as travelling with two children oh oooops no sorry a toddler and a husband! We are enjoying every moment and whilst I want to share it all via blog for everyone to read and to remind us in the future, I also want to live the moments with the two special boys in my life. So be kind and forgiving in your criticism of my perhaps wiltering blog standard :)
