This day is the holiday of the city Bologna, since San Petronio is not only the name of the main cathedral, but also the city patron. So in the early afternoon the statue of San Petronio in the city centre was blessed and in the evening there was a big event in Piazza Maggiore: first there was an orchestra playing some music. Later on they started a theatre play about the story of Bologna, in which also my flatmate took part. In between and in the end there was a big firework, illuminating the city.
