Magnificent Florence

From yesterday we spent two days in Florence: since the city was crowded with tourists yesterday, we only made a short walk around and saw the dome, Pontevecchio and the old centre. This morning we arrived at the dome at 7 o'clock in the morning, when all the tourists were still sleeping and could enjoy the beauty of the dome nearly alone. Afterwards we went up to the cuppula of the dome and saw some palaces in the city. Since the queue in fromt of the Uffizi galleries reaches several hundred metres we decided not to go in this time. So we went on to San Gimignano, a small medieval town in the Tuscany, and Siena, before we returned to Bologna.
