After arriving and getting settled in Killarney I went on a walking tour. So, just how far did I walk.. its anyone's guess.. but it took a few hours (maybe 4 or 5) to do the round trip. While you would think I would be complaining about it.. you'd be wrong. The killarney national park was really beautiful to see, regardless of how cold or cloudy the day was. It reminded me a lot of the Dalkeith farm in Scotland. the trail ended at the Ross castle (which wasnt open.. oh well) which was perched on the edge of the lake.
Needless to say i slept well that night.

The morning of the 21st I got up early for some more fun with kilometers. This trek was quite the walk. It took me about 1.5 hours walking out of the town just to get to this other national park (actually part of the same one I was in yesterday). This walk was lovely and it took me quite awhile to reach the destination, which was the Torc Waterfall (a 20 meter tall waterfall). the walking tours were really nice... too bad it wasn't sunny though!!

I ended up making it back in time to catch the 3:00 bus to Carserveein (a small town on the ring of kerry). The bus ride was nice, but i wouldn't say spectacular. I arrived in the small village of Carserveein around 5 (i think) and proceeded to walk the main strip of town 1 min down to the only hostel. After getting settled, the lady who runs it told me where to go to see the few small sights. This walking tour was strange indeed, as there were no places to walk except on the road itself, ack! I was dodging cars for about an hour or so and finally saw the sign to where the little ruins of something was. The sign read 5km. So... i decided that was enough! I had already walked a ton in the morning and gave it a rest.

The town was pretty dead, I found some noodles in the hostel from the free food section so i cooked those up. The bar scene was dreadful so i just called it an early night. Too bad for me my room was also frequently used as a freezer. It was ridiculously cold and I did not sleep well. Needless to say I hoped the first bus otta there in the morning destined for the city of doolin (near the cliffs of moher).
