We got to the gate of Christ's College and realized we had peeked into it on the way home from The Eagle without knowing what it was. During the day, it is beautiful and has a desk where you check in. The college has "Porters" who answer questions there, handle keys, mail, etc.  They let us in just before it closed to the public and said we could stay as long as we wanted. When one saw me three hours later he called me "mad." Jan thought he was a quick judge of character.

The pictures of the back of Darwin's rooms and of the Chapel were actually made on the 26th.  I put them here so you can see all of Cambridge as Darwin saw it in one place.  This is Darwin's Cambridge right down to where he ate, studied, walked, worshipped, and slept. His rooms were restored into the condition they would have looked at his time, but this exhibit had been taken down last year.  I am lucky to have found that out just before I left, or I probably would have been in tears.  There are great photographs on the internet, and a contact here gave me postcards as well.

Christ's College is absolutely beautiful, and he was so lucky to have been able to go here! Good thing he couldn't hack medical school!
