The 11.5 hour journey to Tokyo seemed like it would never end.  The plane was full, mostly of Japanese tourists, the best group I've ever traveled with.  They didn't shout, scream across the plane, toss their used trays on the ground, keep pushing the lfight attendant button on, or any other annoying habit, like walking around at takeoff and landing.  They stayed seated until the seatbelt light turned off when we arrived at the airport, and didn't push their way, like other flights I've been on.  Went through security to make the connection to Bangkok, waited at the gate (for three hours), the plane started to board, when I checked in, they told me I was at the wrong gate!  The departure board was wrong, and they had two United flights heading to Bangkok at roughly the same time!  (Actually one was an actual United plane, while the other was a United codeshare.)  Raced across the airport to catch the correct plane, then had to endure another 7.5 hours of flying.  This flight seemed longer than the first leg.  I didn't think I was going to make it.  Arrived in Bangkok around midnight, but didn't get to the hotel until around 2 am...the airport shuttle was waiting for other passengers.  Just as I was getting ready to give up and hire a taxi, the hotel shuttle driver was ready to wisk us away for a good morning's sleep.
