Unforuntaly the Thanksgiving travel season started on the day I left. And with me traveling standby on Southwest Airlines that wasn't good. I thought I would get a head start and head to the airport after leaving my IBM AIX class early. The gate agent told me 'Let me tell you how this is going to play out. You will see seats are available but the business travelers will all get here early and take those seats and the flights are all tight today.' I thought humph!! So I hung around until as expected the flight left without me. I ran to the next gate/flight.
It wasn't long that I realized that I could be here all afternoon running from gate to gate in despair. I made the decision to go home and decide late. Ultimately I booked a paid ticket for $120 to Providence. And of course as it turned out that flight had seats for non-revs.
