Finally made it to the coast. Back to sea level, and no pollution!

We took an overnight bus from Mexico City to Matzanillo along with 4 mexican snoring champions, they certainly didn't dissapoint!

We then jumped on a local bus heading up the coast, and ended up in St Patricio Melaque, or Melaque (Mel-LAH-kay) as its known to the locals.

The town is a semi commercialised resort, but its still a working fishing village too. Mexicans and Canadians are the main tourists that are drawn here.

Its a chilled out place, and the coastline is beautiful, it looks a lot like the Phuket area of Thailand, with lots of small islands covered in forest.

We've rented a self catering appt for a week which we plan to hole up in over the christmas break, as all the coastal areas get very busy. Its going to be a rough 2 weeks with all the sun, Tequila and fresh seafood, but I think we should just about make it through!
