BACK BLOGGING AT LAST – SORRY!
I can't believe so much time has gone by since the last blog entry. It’s not like there’s nothing to say! We’ve travelled many thousands of kilometres and seen hundreds of amazing things. Fortunately David started a journal when we got back to Darwin in November. I so appreciate it as I have become quite slack. Shame I can’t always read what he has written!
I flew home mid-October to prepare for David’s fiftieth birthday celebration. He was away in Thailand. (Or was it the Philippines?) I had spent the previous weeks creating 2 books for his birthday – one a photo book of his life and the other a book of messages for him from family and friends. I was so pleased when they arrived. I had also been studying and completing an assignment 3 weeks early. (Yes early!)
David’s birthday 'party’ was great with extended family for a BBQ. The cake Verity had arranged was pretty impressive. Next time we’ll get Kerensa to do one of her amazing cakes but we were trying to keep her from too much work.
The next big event while we were home was of course the birth of our fourth granddaughter – Verity and Matt’s first baby. How blessed I was to be present when beautiful Annabelle came into the world on November 1.
All too soon it was time to get on the road again. David flew back to Darwin 2 days before me and I reluctantly left the family on Saturday. It had been wonderful to spend time with the family and welcome Annabelle May.
