Made it to a border motel in Thailand at Aranyaprathet. You never can tell what you'll find somewhere until you go. There are few hotels here, as this town is mostly used by Thais who cross over the border to gamble in seedy Poipet, Cambodia, much to the dismay of the Thai government. The current administration has said they will sack any officials seen crossing here to gamble for setting a bad example for the Thai people.

We expected a quick one-night stay in a dump before border crossing early the next morning, but instead found spotless rooms, super A/C, a playground, pool for the kids, spa jets, International cable TV channels, free Internet, and a great restaurant. Ahhhhh. Stayed late here to recharge before heading into Cambodia.

A big thanks for all the nice comments in the blog from friends and family. We haven't had much time to reply, but we enjoy them and the kids really perk up when they hear from home.
