Anne and Joni dropped us off at Kai's house. Kai is a great guy, an east German who just got his PhD in optical speckling. We took some time to sightsee but mostly we tried to catch up on our plans and upload photos. We found a place that claimed they could fix the laptop. The owner was Asian and didn't speak very good English. I later learned that he also didn't speak very good Norwegian. In any case he couldn't fix the laptop after all but he told us what was wrong with it and didn't charge us. We were able to take his unreadable description of the problem and send it to our insurance company. Apparently they can read badly written poor English because they completely reimbursed us for the laptop.

The most interesting thing to see is the Cathedral founded on the spot where King Olaf was buried. King Olaf brought Christianity to Norway by slaughtering anyone who wouldn't convert. Next to the church is a museum where they excavated part of the old city including the oldest intact mint in the world. I think "intact" is a bit of a reach. To me it looked like different shades of rock but I guess any archaeologist would look at it and be able to tell you the life story of anybody who ever lived there. I did like the the old coins and blanks they had found.
