Couldn't resist. Especially since I've learned to put on a halter and lead the horses around.
Enjoying the beautiful horses and ponies. I can't be the only person that thought ponies grew up to be horses, can I? So much to learn.
The ponies: Sally (the male pony named by a little girl that wanted a female :) ), who is super mischievous and busts through fences to get to the food shed, Mr. Blue the albino pony and Johnny who needs sunscreen. The young horses, Storm and sweet Jewel who lives with Graham's horse, whose Sioux name is way too long to remember. Sarah who burps and chews the fence posts (we're giving her antacid hidden in molasses, see if that helps). 28 year-old Beau. Cardy, the champion jumper and Phoenix.
I spend my days taking the dogs for long walks around the beautiful lakes and macadamia trees, keeping the horses fed and the barn clean, and starting a new produce business with Sam. We picked mandarins, oranges and lemons the size of Nerf footballs and set up next to the neighbor's lettuce stand. (I painted the sign!) We have big plans for expansion! First a fruit stand, but there could be sourcing of organic fruit to the local cafe in Newrybar, lemon curd, lemonade...sky's the limit. We made $7 on our first day!!
Went to a craft show in Bangalow yesterday. Adorable town. It looks just like St. Helena. Went to Byron for lunch on the beach this afternoon and saw a great concert last night at Durrumbul Hall in Mullimbimby. A friend told me not to turn down any opportunity, so when Candy's tenant, Graham, invited me, I said "yes!" Even though there'd be dancing... It was fun. There was a big campfire. It reminded me of that community center in Calistoga where Erin had a birthday party. Check out Deya Dova's music. She was really beautiful. http://www.deyadova.com
