So here begins our last trip to Thailand. Our fifth time, in six years.
Why begin in benidorm I hear you say, well we live in Spain and have to fly from Alicante to Gatwick. As its only 3 and a half ours away we thought we would begin in Benidorm. So why not two days of fun to begin.
Benidorm is a bit like marmite, its definately a love it or hate it thing. Having been here over 10 times we are on the Love side, we have seen lots of changes recently. A lot less people and lots of empty shops and bars, (a sign of the times).
we were delighted with the levante small one bedroom apartments, ours was on the sixth floor and with a crick of the neck had a sea view. It has a very functional kitchen, not that we will be useing it, (well maybe just for keeping some beer cold).
We quickly got ourselves unpacked and sorted, clothes we are wearing for here, clothes we are wearing to go to Horley on our next leg and stuff we will be leaving in the car at Alicante Airport and with that we were off for a beer and some lunch.
So desperate here are the bars they have ugly looking beer bellied men shouting outside drumming up business, "breakfast for 1.50", "All day Karaoke", "A euro a pint !". What was that last one !
Anyway we settled for a 3 course chinky with free beer for 4.95, lovely !
Tomorrow we will take a walk along the paseo, its going to be a lovely warm day. Add some more snaps then.
