Our first of two visits to Bangkok.

The crushing humidity and smell of the Bangkok city air is one that I have grown fond of as there is no other smell like it, its a sweet, stagnant smell and upon emerging from the air-conditioned sanctuary of the airport for the first time, it's like stepping into an oven.

But then after checking into our first ever hostel, we were the oldest there, we set about the sky train towards MBK centre my favourite place on earth for shopping !

After rays legs had dropped off we headed to China town for some lovely grub.  We just couldnt make our minds up so went to three restaurants and had a bit in each.  Duck in the first, fried fish in the second and finished off with noodles, all with beer of course.  The restaurants are not all of course indoors some were street ones with chairs and tables scattered about the pavements.

We headed back to the hostel and as I had a fancy for some chips spotted a new boutique hotel and ray ordered some beer and chips, he was gone a while ordering and came back to announce that he had got a great deal on our return to bangkok after Hua Hin for one night, same price as the hostel but much much nicer rooms, well done ray. Also we have a late check out thrown in !

Have an early call in the morning, well the man on the desk is going to bang on our door as there is no phone in the room.  We have booked our seats on the 2nd class train to hua hin at 8am in the morning so should get some good snaps.
