We lost one of our travelers this last week!  Kathy Georgeson (part of our Chatham Pres family!) was diagnosed with cancer and has had to schedule surgery instead of our trip!  We are so saddened!

Today we have been packing, unpacking and repacking our luggage.  We have a suitcase full of choir robes for our friend and partner, Job Muiruri; a suitcase and a half of dental supplies for the dental clinic connected with Kikuyu Hospital.  And we are taking a total of five laptops to leave in Kenya (partners, Kasasule Health Clinic, our social work friend Jane Gitubia, in the Bahati Martyrs church -- partner to our congregation in Chatham (PCCT).

Our Sabrina has had a bit of an adventure already.  Things were getting a little tight with the visa from the Kenyan Consulate in New York City, so her mother Brenda drove in to get it.  Guess what!  Her GPS didn't show the UN (which is the neighborhood where the consultate is located! and the traffic caught her, after having to leave a bit late, needing first to get Sabrina's brand new driver's license -- not to worry, she will NOT be driving in Kenya.  For that matter neither will we!  But the good folks at the consulate stayed a little late and held the door open to get the passport with the visa in it!  Whew!)

We are meeting at the airport tomorrow at 6 p.m. -- departure 8:50 p.m., to do some last minute reshuffling of the checked luggage.

Last Sunday PCCT commissioned Ann and me in morning worship!  Needless to say, I'm getting very excited (and Ann a bit anxious at it all -- no surprise!)

Maybe more from the airport as we are waiting tomorrow evening, and London in the morning on Monday!  Our friends are waiting for us in Nairobi!
