As anyone that has had the unfortunate task of traveling with me can imagine.....in order to get to our 8am flight at Regan Airport in DC, we got up at 4am and were at the airport by 6am. So the early start made for a long day, but with Florence struggling with a cold (no fever, so it's not Swine Flu), and a sore shoulder, we were ready to get home.
The flights were right on time, and we even caught the shuttle to our car with perfect timing. Now....I don't remember either of us saying anything out loud like "wow, things are going smoothly" ...but I know we were thinking that. So, when we got to our car, it was dead, dead, dead. After an unsuccessful try at jumping it via the hotel van, we called AAA and they sent someone out to help. It took a while to charge up the battery again, but 90 minutes later, we are finally on our way again.
But wait.....we're really low on gas......but we don't want to turn the car off again. We let the car run for a while and then headed to get gas. Filled the tank and held our breath as we turned the key......YES.....it's alive !!
Then after one bathroom break for Don's ever shrinking bladder and dinner with Derek...we made it home. We both slept much better last night, but now I'm starting to cough......maybe we stayed away about a week too long. NOT.
Signing off........Don
