you have your cross country checkup, now i have mine. sort of. well, cross province at least. today i literally drove the length of the newfoundland land mass, from east to west, traveling the 650+ km from st john's to corner brook. in constant rain and fog no less.

sadly due to the weather, i wasn't able to enjoy the countryside. mind you, it's covered in snow so there's not *much* to see. plus i'm already familiar with the route leading up to gander. i was warned that after grand falls-windor there's not much to see anyways, but that's moot for the time being.

one thing's for certain though; it seems that west of gander, the originality and quality of village names takes a huge dip. gone are the dildos, come by chance, heart's content, goobies, and spread eagle. all i saw were such unique names like st albans (VT), green bay (WI), and pasadena (CA). meh.

however. corner brook looks like a cool city. couldn't see much through the fog and then the darkness. but the industrial area actually looks like a good photo op, and of course there's marble mountain. i'm gonna go skiing!!!
