Jenna and I started our first day of school on Monday, which was good but we were extremely tired! The night before we ended up hanging out with some students from another school. We were at a table with people from all over the world, Australia, Germany, Ireland, Canada, Iceland, Texas, Holland and more! It was a lot of fun! We only stayed out until like 10pm, but the next day I was so tired that it was hard to concentrate in school. So we have decided not to go out on weekdays anymore. Otherwise, school has been great this week. Our teachers only speak to us in spanish, and we cover a lot of material in our 4 1/2 hour sessions. When class is over at 1pm we are totally drained! It has been taking A LOT of energy to concentrate/learn, and we are at a 8,000 ft elevation which drians us quickly as well. By the time it is 8pm I am ready for bed! It has also been extremely cold here in the mornings and at night, so I have been layering up! I even had to go to one of the nearby thrift stores and buy a jacket. On Sunday, Jenna and I have made plans with like 9 other students to go to Fuentes Gorgianas , or some natural hot springs in the near by town, Zunil. I can hardly wait to go!
The family we are staying with consists of Lisdeth the mother, Maria the grandmother, Maria and Johnathan, Lisdeth's kids. Lisdeth and the older Maria talk to us daily, but the kids have no interest in us at all, which is fine. They have their own lives and it seems like they have a lot of students staying with them throughout the year. They have a cat, Carmela, that just had kittens yesterday!! They also have a Chihuahua puppy Mandy, that is out of this world cute, Jenna and I have fallen in love! Everyday after school, the first thing we do is play with her! We both have our own rooms with big beds, while the rest of the family sleeps in only one room(It makes me feel a little weird)!! They have been serving us delicious food! We usually have some kind of meat cooked in really good spices, with rice beans and corn tortillas. They don't really eat a lot of vegatables here! For school, room and board and 3 meals a day for 6 days in the week, we are paying $150! I have also been told that is expensive because this is high season! We plan on staying at Celas Maya, our current school for another week. Next Friday we are heading to Monterrico, which is on the pacific side of Guatemala, to spend like 6 days relaxing on the black sand beaches! From there, we plan on attending school on Lago Atitlan, which is surrounded by beautiful mountains and volcanoes. There are a bunch of spanish schools on the lake so, we plan on taking another 2 weeks to study spanish before traveling ALL around Guatemala. Jenna and I have been having a GREAT time exploring Xela and meeting new people. It is hard to believe we have only been here for 6 days!

Forgive & Forget
Are U letting ByGones Be Bygones?
I forgive & forget all the time, but am much more angry, as an adult, than I was growing up.
Have fun travelling.
