We headed out to see Old Faithful. We packed a lunch and off we went right after breakfast. Along the way, we pass many geysers, they are literally all over the park. This is one reason why we did not bring the dogs with us, it is just to dangerous for them.

We arrive at the Old Faith Geyser location. It is quite the tourist spot. There is a huge parking lot, beautiful lodge, gift shop, food locations, plus other amenities. All very well taken care of considering the thousands of people that visit every day.

Old Faithful is the most consistent geyser so far and probably the most well known of the geysers at Yellowstone, it goes off proximately every 90 minutes. When we arrived, the next eruption was in a little over an hour. We take the walking tour as there are hundreds of geysers and pools all over. The park has made elevated walking paths that you must stay on. I think that there must be a couple of miles of designated paths to walk on. You are not allowed to walk off of these man made paths. There are amazing water pools, from the very small to very large. In addition probably depending on minerals, from super clear water to very colorful water. Then there are the geysers going off, some in the pools of water some from holes in the ground or formations that have evolved over time from the eruptions. The geysers are of all sizes, some just a small hole in the ground or within pools of water with steam coming out, others making the pools look like boiling water, and the ones that not only have steam coming out but also spurts of water from small to streams that are extremely high. We did get to experience a geyser that is considered one of the highest, if not the highest in the park. The eruption was amazing, unbelievable how long the eruption lasts and how high the water is spurted.

We finish the walking tour and go back to Old Faithful. We wait about 20 minutes for its eruption. It goes off and it also is pretty amazing.

We are tired, hot, and hungry. There is a picnic area next to the parking lot that we head for. We eat our lunch, take a breather from all the walking and the sun and head back to the campground and Chuckie and Louie.

We also visited the gift shop and most of us picked up an item or more. It was a another great experience.

At the campground, everyone rests a bit. Have dinner, then sit around the campfire until we are ready for bed.
