We need to pick up a few grocery items and do some laundry. But before we do this we drive out to the Great Salt Lake. It is a huge lake with salty water. We need to look up the history of this lake. A lady in the gift shop did tell us it was a very lively recreational area since the early 1900's with a Pavillion. In 1925 the Pavillion burnt down, it was reconstructed. In the gift shop they have a replica of what the Pavillion buildings used to look like. Hundreds of people would come out to swim, boat and whatever else was available for them at that time. The building then burnt down again in the 1970's due to arson. The Pavilion was again rebuilt and is now used for concerts and they have the Gift Shop. It never became the same recreational area again. We picked up a few souvenirs then headed back downtown
We wanted to try a brewery that Laci recommended. We found out that it is located in Trolley Square, hopefully we found the right place. We had a beer and a late lunch, it was delicious. Manuel picked a really good beer called British Mild, had a note of coffee. My beer was good, tasted close to Blue Moon Belgium White.
We walked around Trolly Square, has lots of shops and restaurants. It is really pretty with beautiful buildings and beautiful landscaping.
While driving downtown, we also passed the the Capitol Building...Beautiful.
We headed back to the campsite, on the way we stopped at a grocery store. Did laundry. We visited with our neighbors and shared contact information.
