We arrived at the Cheyenne KOA at noon. The landscape driving to Wyoming from Colorado definitely changes. This part of Wyoming, southeastern part, the land is flat with hardly any trees. It is also very windy. Its different from what we were experiencing in Colorado but interesting. I think this part of the country has had late rains so the ground is still somewhat green which makes the landscape look prettier, but you can tell that the grass will be drying up soon.

We settle in and relax for a couple of hours. We drive in to old town. It definitely has the feel and look of an old western town. It is quite picturesque. We also drive by the Capital Building. The statues in front and around the building are impressive. It is late afternoon on Saturday so the capitol building and museums are now closed to the public. Old town hardly has any people at this time.

While downtown we see a man painting a sign to one of the establishments. Manuel stops to talk to him mainly to ask him where would be a good place to find a good steak. The man is very funny and gives us directions to a good steakhouse. He also gives us tips of where we might want to stop when heading out of Cheyenne.

We head out to a newer section of the city, ah, here is where all the people are. We find the restaurant the man recommended. We have a very nice steak dinner. I try their white bean chili, it is very good and just had to order a Huckleberry Margarita. The margarita was also very good,

We return to the campsite. The wind has calmed and the climate is perfect for sitting outside to take in the night.
