We drove into town, ate lunch and enjoyed the surroundings. There was a parade earlier this morning, so there are still people around celebrating the holiday.
I wanted to see the flower gardens at CSU, so we stopped there. The gardens are beautiful. It is a testing ground for various flowers and some other plants, but mostly flowers and the school has created a beautiful flower park for the public to enjoy. All the plants are named. They have variations, especially in color, of flowers. For example there must have been at least 40 different variations of geraniums alone
We drove in some of the residential areas around the downtown area. The houses are older well kept homes on smaller lots. Even the ones that seem to be rented by students are very well maintained.
We also took a short drive to the opposite side of town and went to check out Terry Lake. Turns out is is a private lake that is part of a homeowners association. The public is not allowed to use the lake. The residences are very nice, larger homes with larger lots and some of the homes are on the lakeshore with boat docks. Another very nice area.
We went back to the campground and Manuel went fishing on the lake. Chuckie and I went out to sit with him for a while. Chuckie had a scary mishap. Manuel left his fishing rod on the ground and somehow Chuckie got himself hooked on the upper nose right below his eye. Manuel got the hook out and luckily nothing seemed to be wrong, he didn't even bleed and he didn't act like he had any pain. Whew!
